DAYS before she was due to be married, Ghofrane Haddaoui, 23, refused the advances of a teenage boy and paid with her life. Lured to waste ground near her home in Marseilles, the Tunisian-born Frenchwoman was stoned to death, her skull smashed by rocks hurled by at least two young men, according to police.
Although the circumstances of the murder are not clear, the horrific “lapidation” of the young Muslim stoked a French belief that the country can no longer tolerate the excesses of an alien culture in its midst. (Click here to continue reading…)

“Shocked” is how Aisha Sherazi, principal of the Abraar Islamic school in Ottawa, described the reaction of the school’s administration and board on learning last week that two of its teachers had incited hatred of Jews.
And “shocked” was how Mumtaz Akhtar, president of the Muslim-Community Council of Ottawa-Gatineau, described his own reaction to the front-page news about the Abraar school.
But they may have been the only two persons on the planet to be “shocked” to learn that teachers at an Islamic school are promoting anti-Semitism or other aspects of the Islamist agenda. (CNSNews.com) - The renewed fear of Kim Jong Il’s North Korean regime possessing inter-continental ballistic missiles has overshadowed another threat - the possibility that al-Qaeda terrorists might detonate one or more suitcase nuclear bombs in the United States, using the same kind of coordination deployed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York City and the Pentagon.
Investigative journalist and former FBI consultant Paul Williams, author of “Osama’s Revenge: The Next 9/11,” discussed what he sees as an inevitable al-Qaeda nuclear attack in the United States in an interview with NewsMax.com in July 2004.
“I believe that between now and 2005, Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda will attack the U.S. with [stolen] nuclear weapons. I have no doubt about it,” Williams said. “The best bang for the buck is nuclear; they (al Qaeda) know that.” (Click here to continue reading…)

While terrorism — even in the form of suicide attacks — is not an Islamic phenomenon by definition, it cannot be ignored that the lion’s share of terrorist acts and the most devastating of them in recent years have been perpetrated in the name of Islam. This fact has sparked a fundamental debate both in the West and within the Muslim world regarding the link between these acts and the teachings of Islam. Most Western analysts are hesitant to identify such acts with the bona fide teachings of one of the world’s great religions and prefer to view them as a perversion of a religion that is essentially peace-loving and tolerant. America is hated in large parts of the Middle East and Asia, but the more educated and affluent Muslims usually wear Levi jeans while shouting ‘death to America.’ When the cameras are gone and the frenzy is over, they can often be found cueing up at Western embassies, hoping for a visa to immigrate in search of a ‘better life.’ This hate/love relationship many Muslims have with western democracy, freedoms, culture, and technology is despised by their more aged Imams, who then respond by ratcheting-up the hate America sermons. A leading intellectual figure and stalwart fighter in America’s confrontation with radical Islam, Daniel Pipes is perhaps best known for his idea that “radical Islam is the problem, moderate Islam is the solution.” As Pipes argues, radical Islam, though currently the dominant political force in the Muslim world, is supported by only 10 to 15 percent of Muslims worldwide, while moderate Islam represents the great, though so far mostly silent, majority of Muslims. He further points out that radical Islam, also known as militant Islam or Islamism, is a very recent phenomenon, having more in common with modern totalitarian ideologies than with true, historic Islam. While he warns that militant Islam aims to overthrow the West and regain lost Islamic glory, he insists with equal conviction that traditional, moderate Islam is fully capable of living at peace with the rest of the world. CAIR FIGHTS TO BLOCK SALE OF BOOK ON MOHAMMED

The Council on American Islamic Relations demanded an apology from National Review and the removal of a book, The Life and Religion of Mohammed, from sale by NR’s Book Service. This was wrongly focused: NR didn’t publish the book and wasn’t the sole source for it. (The book is available at the HUMAN EVENTS Book Service. But it was revealing of what CAIR wants Americans to know -- and not know -- about Islam.
CAIR took issue with an advertising description of the book that touted it as explaining “why Mohammed couldn’t possibly be a true prophet.” CAIR was angered by the ad’s assertions that “Mohammed posed as the apostle of God . . . while his life is marked by innumerable marriages; and great licentiousness, deeds of rapine, warfare, conquests, unmerciful butcheries, all the time invoking God’s holy name to sanction his evil deeds.” (Click here to continue reading…)

Al-Qal’a (The Fortress) an Islamist Internet forum, posted the first of a two-part interview with a person who introduced himself as Abu Salma Al-Hijazi, one of the Al-Qa’ida commanders closest to Osama bin Laden. [1] The interview was conducted in Iraq, south of Faluja. The article notes that Al-Hijazi was surrounded by five masked men carrying missiles as well as personal weapons. The article was posted by Abu Saqr Al-Najdi; no other details were given. The following are excerpts from the interview:
100,000 Deaths Expected in An Imminent Attack Against the U.S.
In regard to rumors about a large-scale attack against the U.S. during the month of Ramadan, Al-Hijazi said that “a huge and very courageous strike” will take place and that the number of infidels expected to be killed in this attack, according to primary estimates, exceeds 100,000. He added that he “anticipates, but will not swear, that the attack will happen during Ramadan.” He further stated that the attack will be carried out in a way that will “amaze the world and turn Al-Qai’da into [an organization that] horrifies the world until the law of Allah is implemented, actually implemented, and not just in words, on His land... DUBAI, DECEMBER 26, 2003: A London-based Arab magazine said on Friday that Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has vowed to launch a ‘‘back-breaking attack’’ on the US by February, confirming an earlier message by the militant network. The weekly al-Majalla said it received an e-mail from Abu Mohammed al-Ablaj, a little known Al Qaeda member, saying bin Laden would release a video tape in which he affirms his group’s determination to fight the US.
