Following are some of the items reported in the news over the last few years, telling of the danger America faces from Islamist extremists:
Report published by the U.S. Department of State, January 7, 1999:
Shaykh Hisham Kabbani, Chairman of the Islam Supreme Council of America, testified before a committee of the U.S. Department of State that more than twenty suitcase nuclear bombs had arrived in the U.S. and that more that 5000 suicide bombers have been trained for the next attack. He also said that 80% of the mosques in America have been taken over by Muslim extremists who are committed to the destruction of the United States, share the views of Islamic militant groups such as al Qaeda, and are hostile to American culture, wanting to replace it with an Islamic order.
Israel, September 14, 2001:
Israeli security arrested an al Qaeda operative as he attempted to enter Israel through Palestine territories at a border checkpoint at Ramallah. He was carrying a radioactive backpack bomb, a sophisticated weapon using plutonium that could have wreaked havoc throughout Israel. According to Paul Williams in “Osama’s Revenge, news of this was conveyed to the State Department and the weapon became listed in the CIA Daily Threat Report.
George Tenet, Director of the CIA, October 11, 2001:
George Tenet met with President Bush to tell him at least two nuclear suitcases had reached al Qaeda operatives in the United States. According to Osama’s Revenge author Paul Williams, the news was supported by Pakistani’s ISI, the CIA, and the FBI.
BBC Interview, November 15, 2001:
Taliban leader Mullah Omar assured the BBC reporter that the destruction of the United states was well underway: “The plan is going ahead and, God willing, it is being implemented. But it is a huge task, which is beyond the will and comprehension of human beings...”
al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, November 2001:
Osama bin Laden told Hamid Mir, editor of Dawn, a Pakistani newspaper, who appeared in a recent CNN program, “We have chemical and nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are not difficult to obtain if you have contacts in Russia with other Islamist groups. They are available for $10 million and $20 million.”
George Tenet, Director of the CIA, October 2002:
“The threat environment we face is as bad as it was before 9/11. It is serious. They have reconstituted. They are coming after us.”
Telegraph.co.uk, October 28, 2003:
France ‘to aim nuclear arms at rogue states.’ France is to enact a historic shift in military strategy by targeting its nuclear missiles on “rogue states” that have weapons of mass destruction, it was reported yesterday in the newspaper “Libération.” This would bring France into line with America, which has said it might one day be necessary to use nuclear force against nations with weapons of mass destruction.
Associated Press, November 16, 2003:
“Surrounded by five masked men carrying missiles Aba Salma Al-Hijazi, an al-Qaeda commander, said, ‘a huge and very courageous strike’ will take place…and that the number of ‘infidels’ expected to be killed in the attack exceeds 100,000. He stated that the attacks will be carried out in a way that will ‘amaze the world’ and turn al-Qaeda into an organization that ‘horrifies the world until the law of Allah is implemented.’
Al-Hayat, February 8, 2004:
London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Hayat reported bin Laden has vowed to launch a “back-breaking” attack on the United States, confirming an earlier message by the militant group network. “The attack will change the order of things. Americans should prepare their coffins, hospitals, and graves.”
al Qaeda, in a statement claiming credit for the Madrid bombing, March 11, 2004:
“We announce the good news for Muslims in the world that the strike of the black wind of death, the expected strike against America, is now in its final stages - 90 percent ready - and it is coming soon.”
60 Minutes, November 14, 2004:
Osama bin Laden now has religious approval to use a nuclear device against Americans, Michael Scheuer, the former head of the CIA unit charged with tracking down the Saudi terrorist, told Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes Sunday. “Even if bin Laden had a nuclear weapon, he wouldn’t have used it for a lack of proper religious authority. authority he now has.” The approval found that bin Laden was perfectly within his rights to use them, to kill up to four million Americans, two million of them children.
Time Magazine, November 22, 2004:
By Adam Zagorin. A key al-Qaeda operative seized in Pakistan recently offered an alarming account of the group’s potential plans to target the U.S. with weapons of mass destruction, senior U.S. security officials tell Time Magazine. He spoke of ”al-Qaeda’s interest in moving nuclear materials from Europe to either the U.S. or Mexico.”
Talon News, February 17, 2005:
Leaders of the FBI, the CIA, and other government organizations warned Congress Wednesday of future terror attacks. Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld said that officials have been following a “series of very real intelligence that reflects al-Queda planning for further attacks on the U.S.”
FrontPageMagazine, May 6, 2005:
By Paul Sperry. Behind the scenes, homeland security officials are wringing their hands over intelligence indicating al-Qaida is preparing to attack major American cities, including Washington, using Pakistani nationals and possibly Pakistani-Americans. “A number of Pakistani-based young men in their 20’s may be traveling to the U.S. with altered United Kingdom passports in order to engage in terrorist-related activity,” says the highly sensitive DHS action memo.

A REMINDER OF BIN LADEN’S ORIGINAL DECLARATION OF WAR:
Osama bin Laden in his “Declaration of War” on February 23, 1998, wrote, “We, with God’s help, call on every Muslim who believes in God and wishes to be rewarded to comply with God’s order to kill the Americans and plunder their money...divide their nation, tear them to shreds, destroy their economy, burn their companies, ruin their welfare, sink their ships, and kill them on land, sea, and air. May Allah torture them by your hands.”
Putting all of the above together we sense very clearly that America is in mortal danger, and that we must take action to protect the nation now. Certainly, by far the most urgent task facing the nation is how to work out a strategy of deterrence, such as we had in our Mutually Assured Destruction policy with Russia. (MAD)
This is a war unlike any other. It is hard for us to realize that we are in a war that could end in our destruction, and we may not realize that until we see the mushroom clouds rising over our cities. But at that point the war may be over.
We are not going to be invaded by Muslim hordes. Collectively they couldn’t take over Ellis Island. But in a nuclear attack, the heart, and the economy,and the superstructure of America will be gone, along with the economy of much of the rest of the world.
This whole idea of a cleric assuring someone that God has approved of the murder of millions of American children is, of course, absurd, blasphemous, illustrating once again the abject moral poverty and insanity of Islamic thinking. But we know they could do it, we saw it in practice when Islamist terrorists killed over three hundred school children in Russia, shooting them in the back as they ran, or cutting their throats. It is the insanity, the total irrationality at the heart of Islam that we must protect against.
