MAINSTREAM MEDIA COVERING UP VIETNAM VET REJECTION OF KERRY AS COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF

Last Saturday, Leonard Magruder, President of Vietnam Veterans for Academic Reform, sent out an appeal to all Vietnam veteran leaders on his mailing list to send him the results of any polls regarding Bush vs. Kerry. Based on the results we have received so far, at least two thirds of all Vietnam veterans in the country are opposed to the idea of Kerry becoming Commander-in-Chief. If the public becomes aware that vets have serious misgivings about Kerry, that will have a very large impact. The mainstream media knows this and therefore this is certain to be covered up.

STUDENT GROUP IN APPEAL TO WORLD MEDIA AS AMERICAN MEDIA CONTINUES TO SHOVE KERRY DOWN AMERICA’S THROAT

It now appears from our poll that at least 75% of all Vietnam vets are opposed to Kerry. This finding was strongly reinforced Tuesday night when Swift Boat Veterans, a group representing 200 out of 226 who had served in the same unit as Kerry in Vietnam held a press conference in Washington, D.C. and denounced Kerry as “unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.” NBC, ABC, and the Associated Press all refused to tell the American people about the conference.

EDITORS AND REPORTERS OF “THE LAWRENCE JOURNAL-WORLD” WALK RIGHT ON BY AS MAGRUDER PROTESTS COVER-UP FOR KERRY--MEANWHILE, CBS COVERS UP ITS OWN DATA.

Magruder held a protest today in front of the news offices of The Journal-World in Lawrence, Kansas, carrying a large sign for two hours that read “Stop the Media Cover-up for Kerry.” Reporters and editors walked right on by, never speaking to him. He said CBS was covering up a poll they just did that confirmed his findings.

Newsmax.com, June 1, 2004, “Veterans Deserting Kerry”

“Buried deep inside the internals of a CBS poll released Wednesday was this stunning statistic: veterans prefer Bush over Kerry by a whopping 13 points, 54 to 41. Not surprisingly, coverage of the poll result has been slim to none.”

MAGRUDER DEFEATS “LAWRENCE JOURNAL-WORLD” COVER-UP - ALL NORTH CAROLINA HEARS ABOUT VIETNAM VET REJECTION OF KERRY

Talk show host Bill Fishburne of North Carolina’s strongest radio station, WWNC, hearing about the Lawrence incident invited Magruder to tell his story on his half-hour show last Sunday. Magruder said that the media is covering up the fact that 80% of Vietnam veterans, people who have experienced war, say that Kerry is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.

As one Vietnam vet said, “Do we really want a president who organized and led anti-war and anti-American protests and demonstrations under the flag of the enemy we were fighting?” Most vets see Kerry as having shared the same leftist agenda as people like Abbie Hoffman, Dave Dellinger, Jerry Rubin, and Jane Fonda.

“TOPEKA CAPITAL-JOURNAL” JOINS “LAWRENCE JOURNAL-WORLD” BY IGNORING MAGRUDER’S SECOND PROTEST -BUT ISSUE GETS AIRED IN ONE-HOUR COLORADO BROADCAST

The Media Research Center today sent out an article titled, “Major Media Biased to Help Kerry.”

“New surveys have found that public perception of media credibility has fallen and that by three-to-one, more see major networks and newspapers as ‘biased to help Kerry’ over Bush. A Rasmussen poll found that many more see ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC as biased in favor of Kerry over Bush with CBS seen ‘as the most biased.’”

Mr. Magruder discussed this whole issue, including the cover-up by two newspapers in Kansas, on a one-hour program over radio station KHNC in Golden, Colorado, which is heard nationwide on The American Freedom Network.

MEDIA DESPERATELY TRYING TO AVOID HEADLINE “VIETNAM VETS REJECT KERRY” AS MAGRUDER PROTEST CONTINUES

Columnist Stephen Young wrote recently, “Our national recollection of the war matches that of the New Left.” That is the problem. The media wants to keep it that way. The media declared long ago that the debate over Vietnam was closed, that the New Left, the war protestors, and people like Kerry, had won, and that there would be no further discussion. But those who fought in the war have overwhelmingly disagreed. Both sides cannot be right. This election should finally resolve the issue, a major one in the national divide.

WASHINGTON - Members of the military and their families overwhelmingly favor President Bush as commander in chief over his Democratic challenger John Kerry, according to an independent poll released Friday. The respondents named Bush over Kerry by 69 percent to 24 percent on who could be trusted more “to handle the responsibilities of commander in chief of the military.” The survey was part of the prestigious National Annenberg Election Survey, which was buried by the mainstream media.

KERRY CANDIDACY TRIGGERS MULTIPLE VIETNAM VET PROTESTS - MASSIVE RALLY IN WASHINGTON, CONFERENCE ATTACK ON MEDIA AND UNIVERSITY ‘MYTHS’ IN BOSTON

Kerry is the media’s “stealth” candidate. They hope to sneak him in to vindicate their left/liberal version of the Vietnam War.

During the Democratic Convention, July 26-29, there was a major conference at Simmons College in Boston, right next to the Convention, “Examining the Myths of the Vietnam War.” Historians and military experts from all over the country showed media and university still misrepresenting the Vietnam War. Booklet exposing 16 lies to be distributed to students. Reporters right next door at the Convention refused to cover the Conference. See viet-myths.com

Now Special Forces Vietnam veterans have sent a large petition to Kerry in solidarity with the Swift Boat veterans stating that Kerry is “unfit to be our Commander-in-Chief or to lead our nation as President. We call upon the American people to reject his effort.”

MEDIA COVER-UP FOR KERRY A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY - CBS AGAIN COVERS UP ITS OWN DATA.

Subject: CBS Poll: Kerry Still Losing Vet Vote to Bush

Date: 07/29/2004

“The latest CBS News poll, taken on the eve of the Democratic Convention, but never mentioned in formal news reports, shows that the combined veterans of all wars back President Bush over Kerry. Vietnam vets were not polled independently, but other polls suggest that most veterans of that era still harbor deep resentments against Kerry because of anti-war protests where he trashed his comrades in arms as war criminals and was involved in projects with Jane Fonda.”

Following the Convention he still didn’t top Bush.

“A new poll by the national organization Rasmussen Reports, taken after the Democratic Convention, shows that Bush holds a 23% lead among veterans.”

Meanwhile, NewsMax, Insight Magazine Online, Geoff Metcalf national radio, and major veteran websites such as Wintersoldier.com and SwiftVets.com carry reports on the Magruder poll while the mainstream media continue to ignore the issue.

MAGRUDER SALUTES SWIFT BOAT VET VICTORY OVER MEDIA COVER-UP FOR KERRY - MEDIA COVERING UP 80% VET OPPOSITION TO KERRY

The psychology by which the media cannot allow the public to find out that the majority of Vietnam veterans oppose Kerry is elementary. Most Vietnam vets agree they fought in a just war for the freedom of the South Vietnamese against Communist aggression from the North. The media, the campus, and those like Kerry and Fonda fell for Hanoi’s propaganda that it was an imperialistic, immoral war of aggression by the U.S. against those in South Vietnam (the Viet Cong) attempting to unify their country. And they are apparently willing to risk the nation rather than admit they are wrong. Kerry has yet to accept Robert Dole’s suggestion that he apologize.

Update on our poll (an ongoing poll, with 28 Vietnam vet groups so far sending in data):

All 28 results point in the same direction, and very strongly at that, suggesting that what this is telling us is very significant statistically, and that our estimate that 80% of Vietnam vets are opposed to Kerry is correct. For the final results see Presidential Poll at v-v-a-r.org. On sample size, the major polls use samples ranging around 1000. Newsweek this week, for example, used 1003 respondents, L.A.Times, 1352, Harris, 1012, CNN, 767. There are at least four poll samples in our report larger than 1000, one with over 3000, allowing us to be quite confidant in our estimate. Here is one example from the groups reporting, “ViperAsh50”: 3789 for Bush - (90%) - 403 for Kerry (10%)

80% OF VIETNAM VETS ARE REJECTING KERRY. MEDIA DESPERATE TO COVER THIS UP, KNOWING THAT IT MEANS TOTAL REPUDIATION OF THE LIES OF THE 60’S WAR PROTESTORS

David Broder, the noted columnist for “The Washington Post,” got right to the heart of the matter in his national column of August 24:

“The ferocity of the dispute over John Kerry’s Vietnam wounds and decorations - and about his testimony when he decried American atrocities in that war - is explainable only as the latest outburst of a battle that has been going on now for three decades. On both sides the ongoing culture wars is as searing as it was when it first burst into flames. Kerry once told me he thought it would be doubly advantageous that, ‘I fought in Vietnam and I also fought against the Vietnam War.’”

Kerry forgot that the majority of the American people had no use for the war protestors. “Commentary” of February 1980 reported that 51% of those in the “peace” movement favored a Viet Cong victory. A poll by the University of Michigan at the height of the war showed that reactions to “Vietnam war protestors” by the public was by a wide margin the most negative shown to any group.

What is really eating away at America is that everyone knows that our educators still teach students that the protestors were the “moral heroes,” when the real heroes came back to slander and ostracism by their peers who would not serve.

Everybody sees the issue, except the media. Two important new articles (excerpts):

Wednesday, October 13 2004 -- by Gil Spencer

The Delaware County Times (Penn.)

“When thousands of veterans gathered in Washington, D.C., a few weeks ago to express their disdain for Kerry’s candidacy, it went lightly covered nationally. Why is the mainstream press downplaying if not ignoring this outraged group of veterans? These vets have a theory. It’s because the media was complicit in the same anti-Vietnam War movement that John Kerry helped lead when he returned from his four-month tour of duty. Papers like the New York Times and networks like CBS bought and perpetuated the myth of Vietnam veterans as drug-addled and crazed losers. And they continue to have a stake in sustaining that myth. The media’s version of that war is now the country’s official version and they don’t want it changed. Now along come men like Jim Warner, Ken Cordier, Congressional Medal of Honor Winner Leo Thorsness, and hundreds, thousands of others, to say they got it wrong. And that nobody got it more wrong than John Kerry.”

The Media for Kerry

Diana West -October 22, 2004

The Washington Times

“Absolutely,” most reporters want John Kerry to win the election, declares Evan Thomas in “Newsweek.” Are you incensed over Dan Rather’s crude attempt to influence the presidential election with a sheaf of pathetic forgeries? Appalled by “Nightline’s” Ted Koppel for using dictatorship-dictated sources in communist Vietnam to contradict the testimonies of decorated American veterans? Outraged by ABC’s head-office directive to its reporters to go easier on John Kerry than George W. Bush? The election is days away, but vital questions about Mr. Kerry remain not just unanswered in mainstream media outlets, but unasked. Nothing. Questions, stories in the mainstream media? Not a one.

“How, for instance, does this American presidential candidate explain his place of honor in a Vietnamese war museum dedicated to an American defeat? This glaring failure makes a mockery of the media. It leaves us gasping for facts.”

October 26, 2004

MEDIA BUILDING UP TO A DANGEROUS NEW TET-OFFENSIVE TYPE COVER-UP OF VET AND NOW MILITARY REJECTION OF KERRY

Isn’t it obvious that Vietnam veterans would very much like to see one of their own become President? Isn’t it also obvious that if 80% are against one of their own becoming president that they must know of a very good reason? In trying to warn America to reject Kerry, are these veterans not making a second sacrifice for the sake of their country? Is not the media, which betrayed their sacrifices in Vietnam, as in the Tet Offensive of 1968, now betraying them a second time, not allowing them to be heard?

Additional confirmation - also covered up:

Thursday, October 14, 2004

by Ross Mackenzie

“Oct. 11 editions of Military Times publications (Navy Times, Army Times, Marine Corps Times, Air Force Times) carried an astounding story not likely to get much coverage in the establishment press. A Military Times survey of more than 4,000 readers indicates Bush leads Democratic Sen. John Kerry 73 percent to 18 percent in the voluntary survey of 4,165 active-duty, National Guard, and reserve subscribers.

The left detests the military, and the military knows it - and reciprocates, as the Military Times survey overwhelmingly testifies. Those in the military resent the prospect of risking their lives with Kerry as their commander in chief in a war he terms ‘wrong’ and ‘a grand diversion’ - with allies he terms ‘coerced and bribed.’”

October 31, 2004 (2 days before election)

POLLS SHOWING 80% OF VETERANS AND MILITARY REJECT KERRY STILL BEING COVERED UP. QUESTIONS BEING RAISED ABOUT POSSIBLE KERRY CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.

Final remarks in ending our campaign.

Think of the recrimination when the people fully find out, if Kerry were to win the election, what the media hid from them: the hostility of the military, the assassination plot in Kansas City, the request for a deference to study in Paris, the plan to stay off-shore in the Navy out of harm’s way, the trouble with his discharge, being hidden by his refusal to release his military papers, his meetings with the enemy in Paris, his advocacy of a Communist peace proposal - a surrender on enemy terms.

Imagine the instant loss of confidence in the Presidency, not to mention the possibility of blackmail, when all this is told to all Americans, not just those who read about it on the Internet, the overall growing despair as the nation realizes how the media fooled them.

There are two issues here of absolutely vital importance to the nation. First, the media has withheld from the public documented evidence that shows that veterans and the armed forces by a significant majority have tried to warn the nation that Kerry would be an unacceptable Commander-in-Chief, and second, this means that if Kerry wins there will be a paralyzing hostility between the armed forces and the Commander-in-Chief in a time of war. This we absolutely cannot have.

As one commentator on the Internet wrote recently, “If Kerry is elected he will take office with unplumbed secrets that directly relate to his fitness to be President, that the mainstream media have willfully and consistently ignored.”

VICTORY!

Aftermath of the election: CNN Election Results show all military voting 57% for Bush, 41% for Kerry. It is certain they also have percentages for Vietnam vet votes, but are not showing them. Another trick the media pulled, of five national polls on the web predicting results in terms of electoral college numbers, one was a tie, the other four predicted Bush. But the media decided to tell the American people it was a dead heat, making sure they didn’t do anything to help Bush.

VETS MADE THE DIFFERENCE

Joseph J. Farah- Nov. 3, 2004

WorldNetDaily.com

“Swift Boat Veterans for Truth are responsible for keeping Bush in the White House. There is not a doubt in my mind that this was the difference in the race. They took Kerry on and told the American people the truth .

Fox News -

Bush-Cheney re-election architect Karl Rove gave credit on Sunday to the Swift Boat Veterans and POWs for Truth for exposing Kerry’s anti-war past and energizing Republican voters to turn out at the polls.

Geoff Metcalf on NewsMax:

“Since February I have been ranting that the veteran community would inevitably become the prime contributor to the destruction of the John Kerry campaign. Smarter, more dedicated men than this writer have been beating this drum for months.” And he listed these four websites at the head of “hundreds.”

ON CLOSURE FOR VETS

Vietnam Veterans Vindicated : Finally and Forever !

Jeffrey Sharp

Commander

AMVETS Post 18 - Orange County

Those of our veteran’s community who served honorably and have lived with a terrible burden of charges of unsubstantiated war crimes that Kerry has hung over their heads for thirty years, have been vindicated by America’s citizenry once and for all. With the resounding defeat of John Kerry for his bid to become Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces, America has totally repudiated the far left in this country who seem to believe that the United States is the root of all evil in this world.

Don Bendell - officer - Special Forces

I am proud to say that I am a Vietnam veteran and finally have some degree of closure. It occurred on Nov. 2. Called to fight the great fight once again, we fought and indeed won, and we are now healed and strong. A warning to our old antagonists. We Vietnam veterans insured that President George W. Bush got re-elected. and now we will insist that you will stop politicizing the war on terrorists. You will not traumatize, bastardize, trivialize, or disparage a new generation of honored fighting men and women in harm’s way like you did so many of us so long ago and for so many years following.

ON CLOSURE FOR US

Dear Leonard

As part of the hardest working, most efficient team in the history of politics, you helped Republicans across the country achieve victory this election cycle. Your efforts made a real difference. President George W. Bush will lead this great country of ours for four more years and you made that happen.

Ed Gillespie- Republican National Chairman

Dear Friends :

On behalf of Admiral Hoffman and the entire Swift Vets/POW family I thank you for your service. We achieved our goal of getting the truth out...setting the record straight about the honorable service of military veterans in general and Vietnam veterans in particular.

Thomas C . Wyld - Commander, U.S.Navy (Ret.)

Communications Coordinator -

Swift Vets and POWs for Truth

Dear Leonard:

We had a long night - and we had a great night. The voters turned out in record numbers and delivered an historic victory. Because you did your part we are celebrating today.

President George W. Bush

We know these letters were automated, but at least they show we were in the right Order-of-Battle, and we are proud that someone thinks we played some small part in this great victory for America. This brings closure to the campaign we started so long ago when I resigned my post as professor of psychology at a rally we gave for Vietnam veterans at Suffolk College, New York, May 10, 1981, “to protest the damage done to Vietnam veterans by the erroneous views of many in the university and the media in the 60’s and their perpetuation of these views.” (The Compass, May 11, 1981.) For the history of this campaign see the 10-part series, Vietnam and the Media at v-v-a-r.org.

It fulfills the mission of the Manifesto we placed on record with the White House in 1982, promising to help end the Big Lie of the Left, the war protestors, about Vietnam. But as noted in one letter above, the Left, which started all this, is still with us, with a new more deadly agenda. Therefore, we are starting a new campaign and have written a new Manifesto and the issues are now how leftist academics are lying to students about Islam, terrorism, and have become a leading force on campus for anti-Semitism. The rise of anti-Semitism among academics now makes the university the greatest single internal threat to our democracy. To see our new Manifesto Against Leftist Tyranny go to v-v-a-r.org. On the Big Lie, see our two articles, Kerry Too Naive-Part 1, and We Don’t Want Your Views on War - You Lied About Vietnam.

Our immediate article coming up, however, will address the most crucial issue of all, the need to announce a new doctrine threatening massive, catastrophic retaliation to Muslim areas for any further attacks on America. Just sitting here while bin Laden tells us what he is going to do to us, is insanity. We need to tell him immediately what we are going to do to him and his fantasy of Muslim world domination. It is clear that we are rapidly approaching what many have warned about, a clash of civilizations, Islam vs. the West.

The university is now faced with the fact that the reigning world-view of the social sciences and the humanities over the last decades has led repeatedly to major misinterpretations of world events. It is time to address the two questions posed recently by Daniel Pipes, our greatest scholar on the Middle East and Bush appointee: “Why have university specialists proven so inept at understanding the great contemporary issues of war and peace, starting with Vietnam, then Granada, then Kuwait, then the War on Terror? What is the long-term effect of an extremist, intolerant, and anti-American environment on university students?”

It is in the vacuum left by the new national repudiation of this largely leftist world-view that the new understanding of reality will grow. The focus of the battle in this country will probably begin around “intelligent design” as this threatens to bring about an entirely new scientific paradigm that will frighten many in America. But in England, in such centers as Oxford and Cambridge, world-class scientists who are also theologians are way ahead of us, having found the courage to wrestle with the possible implications for natural theology of such new developments as the Anthropic Principle, Big-Bang theory, Heisenberg’s Principle of Indeterminacy, Pauli Exclusion Principle, Bell’s Theorem, quantum mechanics and a number of other new scientific developments. Books on the philosophical/theological dimensions of these developments are not made available to students at American universities. For example, see the book store at the local University of Kansas. In any case, V.V.A.R. plans to be in the forefront of these battles. Stay tuned.
